லூன்றிக் காய்வெப்ப முதிரபிததுங் கரககுந
தான்றிக்காய் கையிலெடுத தால்.

(இ .ள்.) தான்றிக்காயால் சிலந்தி விஷம் ஆண்குறிக்கிரந்தி சீழ்ப் பிரமேகம் திரிதோஷசுரம் ரத்தபித்தம் , வாதபித்ததோஷம் பித்த நீர் உட்சூடு வாதகோபம் இவைபோம் , அழகும் ஒளியும் உண்டாம்.
Medicinal uses:
A very good healer of gastric diseases, common cold, leucoderma and also acts as laxative, cures digestive disorders, anti-inflammatory etc. It is used as antimalarial and antifungal drug in Chinese medicine. It is one of the important ingredients in triphala an Ayurvedic and Siddha preparation. Other properties for which it is used are acts as a laxative, health tonic,hemorrhoids and as rejuvenator etc.
Home remedy:
Triphala a Siddha and Ayurvedic preparation in which key constituent is amla helps in healing tooth ache and prevents odour from mouth. It is also used as laxative, gargle, enhances brain activities, anti oxidant, cholesterol reducing and wound healing etc.
